چکیده

This paper proposes a design method of generalized minimum variance control (GMVC) using strong stability rate. Strong stability rate is a novel and simple concept for plant safety, and it is defined by ratio of the open-loop gain and the closed-loop gain of controlled system through YoulaKucera parametrization. For safety, it is desirable that the open-loop output is closer to the closed-loop output even if feedback signal becomes zero by accident. In other words, ratio of open-loop gain and closed-loop gain plays an important role for safety. Therefore this paper extends GMVC using coprime factorization and designs strongly stable GMVC with strong stability rate. A numerical example is given in order to verify the validity of the proposed method.

Self-Tuning Generalized Minimum Variance Control Based on On-Demand Type Feedback Controller

This paper proposes a design method of self-tuning generalized minimum variance control based on ondemand type feedback controller. A controller, such as generalized minimum variance control (GMVC), generalized predictive control (GPC) and so on, can be extended by using coprime factorization. Then new design parameter is introduced into the extended controller, and the parameter can re-design ...

Self-tuning Continuous-time Generalized Minimum Variance Control

There is Generalized Minimum Variance Control(GMVC) in one of the design methods of Self Tuning Control(STC). In general, STC is applied discrete-time design. According to selection of sampling period, discrete-time design has possibilities to generate unstable zero and odd time-delay, and fail to get a clear grasp of the controlled object at all times. Then, we propose continuous-time design o...

Global Stabilization of Attitude Dynamics: SDRE-based Control Laws

The State-Dependant Riccati Equation method has been frequently used to design suboptimal controllers applied to nonlinear dynamic systems. Different methods for local stability analysis of SDRE controlled systems of order greater than two such as the attitude dynamics of a general rigid body have been extended in literature; however, it is still difficult to show global stability properties of...

Controller Performance Design and Assessment Using Nonlinear Generalized Minimum Variance Benchmark: Scalar Case

A nonlinear version of the Generalized Minimum Variance (GMV) multivariable control law has been recently derived for the control of nonlinear, possibly time-varying systems. This paper presents the results of the controller performance assessment against this Nonlinear GMV controller in the scalar case. The minimum variance of the generalized output is estimated from routine operating data giv...
